Kairi is a Princess of Heart and a childhood friend of Sora and Riku.

History[]

Early life[]

Through unknown means, Kairi washed ashore on Destiny Islands where she was found by Sora.[2] One day, Kairi followed Sora into his and Riku's Secret Place which Sora claimed was off-limits. However, he granted her entry, claiming that she was special and the two of them carved each other's likeness on the wall with rocks.[3]

Plans to see the world[]

During the construction of a raft, Kairi found Sora asleep on the shore and woke him up by hitting him with a tarp. They walked back toward the raft where Riku insinuated that they were off scarfing down Paopu fruit. While they sat around the raft, Kairi busied herself by constructing a Thalassa shell lucky charm while Riku reassured Sora that they would find other worlds and learn where Kairi came from. She interrupted the conversation by showing them her lucky charm and explained that it was originally worn by sailors who prayed for a safe voyage. As they walked back to their boats, Kairi called out to her friends to hurry as they had fallen behind talking. That night, Kairi applied the finishing touches to her lucky charm.[2]

The next day, Kairi looked for Sora around the Secret Place to help in getting ready for their departure. She found him inside, but Sora quickly pushed her outside. At the boats, Kairi reminded Sora and Riku to wake up early for tomorrow. However, that night, a storm fell around the island and Kairi rowed back to check on the raft.[3] Kairi stood in front of the door in the Secret Place when Sora found her. As she turned to face him, the door burst and launched Kairi toward him though she disappeared before she could reach him.[4]
